Fresh from finding the back of the net against Southampton, Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez is slowly regaining his best form for the Foxes.

Under their new manager, Claude Puel, the Algerian winger has netted five goals and provided four assists so far in the Frenchman’s tenure.

With his goals and assists numbers, he has already matched his combined total for the whole of last season, but he did not begin this campaign in a good form.

His opener against Southampton was the first time that he had scored in back-to-back games since Claudio Ranieri was in charge.

With signals that his game is on the rise and form coming back, speculation is also rife that he may be on his way out next month.

However, manager Puel is upbeat the 26-year-old will stay put ad they want to challenge for a decent finish this term.

“It will be important to keep our best players and to continue this work,” Puel is quoted by the Leicester Mercury.

“I am confident at this moment in the quality of my team so this isn’t the time to talk about January. We will see this in time.”

With the Algerian’s contribution, the 2015/16 English Premier League champions have climbed to eighth in the EPL table courtesy of three successive victories.
