News coming from Zambia is that Wedson Nyirenda is facing the chop from the Football Association of Zambia as Chipolopolo coach.
Media reports in the country reveal that Nyirenda’s quarter-final loss at the 2018 CAF African Nations Championship in Morocco has led to FAZ deciding against his future.
According to the Zambian Football website, FAZ president Andrew Kamanga, general secretary Ponga Liwewe and other executive committee members met on Friday last week to decide the coach’s future.
Furthermore, the ZamFoot Crew insider also revealed that the meeting tackled the hiring of a new coach.
“It’s an open secret now that Wada will be sacked in the coming few days,’ the ZamFoot Crew insider said.
“They might even announce a new coach in the coming few days.”
‘Wada’ took over from George Lwandamina in August 2016 and under his tutelage he qualified Zambia to CHAN tournament in Morocco.
However, after a poor start in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, Zambia finished second in the group which had Nigeria, Cameroon and Algeria.
