Ezequiel Barco celebrates after scoring for Independiente against Flamengo.

Independiente midfielder Ezequiel Barco was coy about reports linking him with a $12 million move to MLS side Atlanta United.

Speaking after Independiente 1-1 draw at Flamengo on Wednesday, a result that earned the Argentine side a 3-2 aggregate win to lift the Copa Sudamericana, Barco did not clarify his future one way or the other.

According to TyC Sports and Clarin, Atlanta United are keen to acquire the 18-year-old.

Clarin says negotiations between the clubs began a month ago and that Barco played his last game for Independiente on Wednesday.

Asked about reports regarding a possible move to the MLS with Atlanta United, Barco told TyC Sports after Wednesdays’ game: “Right now I want to enjoy this very important moment and then we shall see.

“We are delighted with this great triumph and to be champions. I dedicate the goal to my grandfather who recently passed away.”
